I thought we were going to have a few more months before little bug went through the, "I want to do it on my own" phase. Lucky us. It has already started. Now that little bug can walk/run anywhere, she wants to do everything on her own. Open & close doors, turn the light switches on & off, put clothes in the dryer (or the corner of her room that she things is the best spot for wet laundry)...you name it.
This has also spilled (literally) into eating. She wants to eat things like mommy does. Which means if I'm eating a sandwich and holding it, she has to hold it before she takes a bite. She'll eat pretty much everything (egg drop soup, pizza, turkey, mu shu pork) and if something is on your plate, she wants it. She's picking up a lot of good concepts, but waiting for something to cool is not one of them. Last night we picked up fried chicken and I was feeding her pieces of a biscuit. Big mistake. She had to hold the biscuit and make a mess of it on her tray before she'd eat it. Same deal with the chicken, I actually had to hand her a drumstick to chew pieces off because she wouldn't eat the pieces I had cut up and put on her tray.
We also have some interesting food combos. Her stomach must be a tank because today she had bananas, hot dog, and mashed potatoes for lunch following her watermelon and oatmeal breakfast. Of course, she still has her snacks of whatever lint, paper, and feather bed feathers she finds on the floor. Off to vacuum!
