The Doctor Says "Ow"

Little bug is now full of drama. I have no idea where she is getting this from (ah-hem). When I picked her up from the nanny's she saw me, threw her head back and walked to me in slow motion while she was whining. It was as if she was saying, "alright, I'll go to the doctor with you, but I don't want to". So, I packed up the little drama queen and headed to the doctor's office.

She was having a great time in the lobby. She played with all the toys (probably laden with all kinds of germs), jabbered to people, and walked all around with her arm in the air because she was wearing my bracelet. During her checkup, the nurse asked if she could say any words and we said "yes, she says da-da, ma-ma, duck, doll, etc" and little bug started yelling "duck, duck, duck, duck". At least the nurses didn't think we were lying. Then...the wheels fell off the bus. As soon as someone touched little bug, she screamed her head off. Considering she was getting a full checkup, four shots (one in each appendage) and a throat swab -- there was a lot of touching going on. She screamed as loud as I've ever heard her, and she kept yelling something that sounded like "ow, ow, ow". I was going to have the nurses add that one to the list of words she could say, but I don't think they were seeing the humor. When we got home, she was perfectly fine and even pulled off her own band aids.

She is weighing in at 21 lbs and 11 ounces and is 29 inches tall. She's in the 50th percentile for height and weight and the 25th percentile for head circumference, but I'm sure her small head won't last for long. Tonight she stood up on our scale and it showed her weight as 21 pounds. Like most women she started to cry until we took her off the scale.

Since little bug had the fever on Sunday, I tossed her dolly that she takes naps with in the washing machine to get the germs off of her. Bug pulled dolly out of the dryer and proceeded to drag her across a toilet seat, stick her in the shower (with water running), toss her in the trash and then try to stuff her in the diaper genie. So much for trying to keep dolly clean!
