I was so proud of little bug today! She has a mat that has monkeys, elephants, etc on it. I showed her the monkey and then asked her where the monkey was. She pointed to a monkey close to her, and then pointed out the rest of the monkeys on the mat. She's a genius!
Then we were at the aquarium today watching the sea lions. Little bug had her hands on the tank and was squealing when the sea lions would swim next to her. Then all of a sudden she took off running after something that caught her eye...the trash can. Here we are at the world's largest aquarium with loads of penguins, otters, etc and little bug gets excited about the trash can. It wasn't even one shaped like a fish, it was your standard public can.
There is an area of the aquarium that is a huge floor to ceiling view into the large tank, so all the kids sit on the floor and point out the fish. Little bug watched the fish for a bit and then became more interested in the kids around her. Or rather, the cell phone of the mom sitting next to me. After bug kept sidling up to her, the mom said the whole, "isn't she cute" line. But bug kept lunging for her so she scooped up her kids and left. More room for us! Until the kid on the left of bug had a dolphin stuffed animal that he was letting 'swim' in the tank. Little bug made a beeline for him so we grabbed her and headed out before she attacked him and grabbed the dolphin.
