The Secret Lives of Fish

I stopped by at Little Bug's school today for her Valentines Day Party, which was super cute. In the classroom, I noticed a board entitled "Our Pets". It had each kids name on it and either "no animals" next to their name or the names of animals listed. Next to Eve's name was written: Foofa, Charla. I have no idea who or what that is. I asked Little Bug who Foofa was and she said, "our silver fish, and Charla is our golden fish he's my favorite." Apparently Little Bug has named our fish, and never told us. I've seen her standing in front of the fish tank with her friends pointing to the fish and telling her friends about them so I wonder how long Foofa and Charla have had names.

We didn't think Little Bug was really attached to the fish, but back when we moved into the new house we weren't sure how well moving the fish would go since they have gotten really big. We kept telling her that the fish might not go to the new house, that they might be too big and will want to go to the ocean. One headed to the "ocean" and the other two survived the transition. We didn't think she really noticed until we heard her on the phone saying, "In my new house I have two fish, I used to have three fish, but now I have two, one fish went to the ocean."
