When Little Bug first realized that princesses existed and they got to wear fancy dresses, she was obsessed with getting a princess dress. So every time she got a dress, we would say, "oh my goodness you are a princess". Basically every dress is now a princess dress which saves us quite a bit of money. Whenever I get dressed up to head out with girlfriends or to church Little Bug has to run to the closet and pick out a "princess dress" for me.
She also started a habit that whenever she saw someone in a dress she gasps, points and says, "Look (mommy or daddy) a princess!" Let's just say that one person at a time, Little Bug is building self-esteem in the women we run into. Because the majority of them would not really fall into the "princess" category - but they look at us like Little Bug is the smartest girl in the world.

Funny Dreams
Tonight I was feeding Little Chick her bottle before I put her to bed and she fell asleep in my arms. I watched her for a minute while she twitched like she was dreaming, and then she started giggling and smiling. Apparently whatever she was dreaming about was pretty funny.
She has also figured out how to scoot out of pretty much everything. If I put her in a swing, she hangs herself over the side. She tries to sit straight up if she's in a reclined seat, and she jumps like crazy in her bouncer. Her funniest is when she sits in the bumbo seat. Each night we put her on top of the table in her seat (yes I know it is totally against the manufacturer's recommendations), and she watches us eat dinner. She usually chatters away and chews on her hands entertaining herself. But one night I look to my right and she's MUCH closer to me than where I put her, and she's staring at me as if to say, "what mommy, nothing to see here." I pushed her seat back to the middle of the table and we watched her scoot herself back to me by tossing her little body backwards and forwards. She can totally get around in that seat. And when she gets close to me she keeps eye contact with me while she reaches for my drink or plate, as if I'm not going to notice as long as she's looking at me. Seeing her creep around is hilarious. I've tried to capture it with the video camera but of course as soon as I point a camera at her she freezes up.
In related news, we've started feeding her cereal for dinner. Mostly so she'll leave my plate alone.

Marketing the Baby
Little bug asked us last night if we were advertised when we were babies. We were really confused because she went on to say how she was advertised and she told us that she cried. After a while of us asking her questions trying to figure out why she thought we were marketing her, and her talking about how she's been advertised in water, pictures, videos - we realized that she meant to say baptized. So she was telling us how she was baptized as a baby, not advertised. That cleared up the conversation quite a bit.
On the drive home from little school, little bug told daddy about a conversation that she had with her best friend S. Apparently she and S were talking about how they missed their mommy and daddy, and then the conversation turned to how they get sad when their daddies are upset with them because they've done something wrong. I think it is hilarious that at 3 1/2, she and her girlfriend are sitting down and talking about their feelings with each other.
